medvet wellbeing series
The current health crisis caused by COVID-19, increasing number of Patients needing care, and the associated stress has exacerbated this already challenging profession. To support the mental health and wellbeing of our veterinary community, MedVet hosted a series of live, virtual Compassion Fatigue education and QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training sessions. Were you unable to attend? Keep in touch as these lectures will also soon be available On Demand to help ensure this invaluable information continues to be readily available. Please note, you may attend a lecture more than once, but you may only receive 1.0 credit hour for each lecture. For event follow-up information, please scroll to the bottom.
Compassion Fatigue: Recognition, Treatment, and Prevention presented by Megan Williams, GBA, CCFP
- This live virtual CE will provide veterinary professionals the education and understanding on how Compassion Fatigue impacts the veterinary industry and how we can work together to recognize, treat, and prevent. It provides tips on combatting compassion fatigue including the QPR tool that aids in effective intervention in a crisis situation. With a high prevalence of suicide in veterinary medicine it is critical that we have the education and resources to support our colleagues. This presentation will also teach PAWS -- practice mindfulness, assess your self-care, work together, and say something.
- This lecture is RACE-approved for 1.0 credit hour (non-medical) for veterinarians and technicians.
